Terms of Use - Photo Lock

1. Acceptance of these Terms

These Terms of Use ("Terms") govern your use of the Photo Lock mobile application ("Photo Lock", "the app", "we", "us", or "our"). By downloading, installing, accessing, or using Photo Lock, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the app.

2. What Photo Lock does

Photo Lock is a privacy utility that allows you to place selected photos and videos into private app storage and protect access to the app using supported lock methods. The app may also provide features such as biometric unlock, decoy app appearance, auto-lock, deletion, and Restore to Gallery.

3. Your responsibility for your media

You are responsible for the photos, videos, and other content you choose to import, delete, restore, export, or otherwise manage with Photo Lock.

You should keep an independent backup of media that is important to you. Do not rely on Photo Lock as the only permanent archive of irreplaceable files.

If you delete the only remaining copy of a photo or video, clear app data, uninstall the app, lose access to your device, or experience device/storage failure, your media may be permanently lost.

4. Import, deletion, and Restore to Gallery

Importing media into Photo Lock creates a private vault copy. When supported, the app may offer you the option to remove the original item from your Gallery. Android may require a separate system confirmation for deletion.

Restore to Gallery copies selected vault media back to shared media storage. A restored copy normally remains in Photo Lock until you separately delete the vault copy.

For newer imports, Photo Lock may use locally stored album information to restore media to its previous album when possible. When that information is unavailable, the app may restore the item to a general Restored album.

5. Lock credentials and device security

You are responsible for remembering your lock credentials and recovery information and for securing access to your device. Biometric authentication is provided by the Android operating system and depends on your device's capabilities and setup.

Security features reduce unauthorized access risk but cannot provide an absolute guarantee against every form of device, operating-system, hardware, malware, physical-access, or user-security threat.

6. Permitted use

You may use Photo Lock only in compliance with applicable law and these Terms. You must not:

use the app to violate another person's rights or privacy;
use the app for unlawful content or unlawful activity;
attempt to interfere with, damage, reverse engineer, or circumvent the app except where applicable law expressly permits it; or
misrepresent the app, its ownership, or its functionality.

7. Intellectual property

Photo Lock, including its software, branding, interface, graphics, and original materials, is protected by applicable intellectual-property laws. These Terms give you a limited, personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable right to use the app in accordance with these Terms. They do not transfer ownership of the app or its intellectual property to you.

You retain your rights in the photos and videos you place in the app.

8. Availability and changes

We may update, modify, improve, suspend, or discontinue features of Photo Lock. Device compatibility, Android behavior, permissions, Gallery behavior, and biometric capabilities may vary by device and operating-system version.

9. Disclaimer of warranties

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Photo Lock is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis. We do not guarantee that the app will always be uninterrupted, error-free, compatible with every device, or capable of recovering media after deletion, corruption, device failure, uninstall, loss of credentials, or other data-loss events.

Nothing in these Terms excludes warranties or rights that cannot lawfully be excluded under applicable consumer law.

10. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, we will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or similar damages arising from your use of Photo Lock, including loss of media or data, except where such liability cannot legally be limited or excluded.

11. Privacy

Your use of Photo Lock is also subject to the Photo Lock Privacy Policy, which explains how the app handles information and media.

12. Changes to these Terms

We may revise these Terms when Photo Lock or applicable requirements change. The effective date at the top of this page identifies the current version.

13. Applicable law

These Terms are governed by applicable law. Any mandatory consumer-protection rights available to you in your country or region remain unaffected.
